The second specialty conference on Leadership and Management was held at Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas May 4-6, 2006. The conference was co-sponsored by ASCE’s Construction Institute and the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB). The conference was co-chaired by Paul Chinowsky, University of Colorado; Tony Songer, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and Pat Carrillo, Loughborough University. Ten Countries were represented and 50 papers were presented in the areas of education, globalization, knowledge management, organization and leadership, project based organization, and workforce. The delegates emphasized the need for a greater focus on leadership and management within the academic and industry communities as well as the need for greater interaction between the groups on this topic. A date and location will be announced in the near future for the third conference on this topic.
